  The broken pencil's been there as long as I have. Along with the three towers by Odegard in honor of the three virgins that graduated from the UW (I know, I know, they say it's for exhaust from the garage, but I don't buy it).

    I did visit the campas about 10 years ago to look into graduate school when I was between jobs. I saw the new chemistry building in construction by the duck pound between the physics and chemistry building. I must have walked by the pyramid but don't remember seeing the "broken pencil".
